Houston Vinyl Pool Liner, Houston Pool Covers

FAQ

How long from the time the contract is signed until installation?

Most of the year it is a matter of 10 days to two (2) weeks, but “in season” it could be 2-4 weeks. Therefore, it is important to order early.

How long does the job take to do, once it has begun?

Normally we will go to the job site the day before to put a pump into the pool, lay out discharge hose, and either turn the pump on or leave instructions for the homeowner to turn it on in the evening. The crew will arrive early the following day to remove the old liner, clean and treat the base, and install the new liner. Normally the pool will be refilling that day. Naturally, if there is work to be done besides the liner replacement, the renovation period could be extended for an additional day or so.

What thickness of liner should I choose for my particular pool?

The correct choice of thickness will usually depend on the pool construction, specifically the base material used.

20 Gauge – thinner and perfect for vermiculite or poolcrete pool bases

30 Gauge – thicker and best for sand/cement pool bases

20/30 Blend – primarily used in the north where thick ice formation in pools is a problem

Will insurance pay for a liner replacement?

Sometimes. Each case is different, but in the event of hail damage, trees toppled into the pool by high winds, pets-wildlife-riding lawn mowers, etc. in the pool, insurance has been known to cover the damage. Good luck.

What about the Warranty?

The 20 year Warranty is the same for any thickness of liner selected. Improved Warranty on Seam Failure – If there is any seam failure for the first 3 years there will be no cost to the customer. All liners carry a 17 year pro-rated warranty (after the first 3 years) to cover anything the manufacturer, or we, can control, namely, seam failures and/or material defects.
